Making good use of our very long holiday, I took my camera and drove to the Southeast of Bahrain to the tiny seaside towns of Askar and Jau and took a few photographs of the local flamingo population.
They are such beautiful and graceful creatures, and it saddens me that their numbers are decreasing more and more around Bahrain due to land reclamation and pollution. This picture on the left symbolizes how much the human footprint can affect the environment and that we have to be very delicate if we are to preserve what nature and wildlife we have left on our planet.

Yagoob, we should call Greenpeace.
Trust my words, nothing will be done about pollution unless Bahrain faces International pressure that Greenpeace can muster.
I agree, Nature is truly paying the price of development in our country and we must preserve what nature and wildlife we have left..
All this reclamation is scaring away all the fish and all the birds and other wildlife from our land and waters!
