Shi’aa=Poor?

Shi’aa=Poor?

First of all, thanks to the person who put this video on good ol’ YouTube. This report has sparked some controversy especially in the pro-government newspaper Akhbar Al-Khaleej.

I normally don’t write about politics, it’s not my thing because 1) I’m not a politician nor a freedomfighter  2) I believe there are way better things to talk about and learn, but anyhow I just feel pissed off!

Hala Gorani (by the way, Akhbar Al-Khaleej calls her Hala Garooni, and the Garooni family are a Bahraini  family and are known lawyers) says that she intended to do a piece about “Poverty in Bahrain” but ended up saying that Shi’aas are all poor. Yes, there are poor Shi’aas in Bahrain’s villages but that doesn’t mean that ALL Sunnis bloody live in 3 story villas with a swimming pool! I think Ms Garoni somehow missed Isa Town and Libnan (a run down area in Riffa) and saw how Sunni families cope with being poor and living in huts with only (Chinkoo) to cover their heads.

CNN are blatantly trying to capitalise on the ever growing Sunni-Shi’aa tear in the Arab World and Bahrain  seemingly absorbs every conflict in the region and localises it.

To end this fruitless rant…. No Sunni No Shi’aa.. Just Bahraini Motherf**kers!
